Outside In

When the Burglasses built their dream home, one of their main goals was to highlight their courtyard and gardens with ample windows and an easy, open flow to the outdoors. Heather Burglass doesn’t consider herself a gardener, but she is an avid lover of gardens all the same. Not only did she and her husband, Bruce, recently host the patron party for the Longue Vue Symposium at their home in Metairie Club Gardens, but they also designed their whole house so that each room would have a great view of the outside gardens and courtyard.

Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans' 33rd Annual Holiday Home Tour

The first Holiday Home Tour was held in 1975 to raise money for the Preservation Resource Center and its budding programs. Held on the evening of Dec. 17, the inaugural tour was a candlelit stroll through four Garden District homes on First Street.

Charleston Mayor Urges Caution, Prudence Before Demolition

Speaking at the Inaugural Renaissance Awards and Preservation Resource Center Heritage Club Luncheon, the mayor called New Orleanians “heroes.” The Inaugural Renaissance Awards and Preservation Resource Center Heritage Club Luncheon was held on Sept. 18 at the Audubon Tea Room. More than 220 guests converged on the elegant locale to celebrate the great historic architecture of New Orleans and also to recognize the importance of preserving it for future generations.
