These pools go beyond the basics with waterfalls, fire pits and bubbler fountains to create a cool escape from the dog days of summer.
Nearly a decade ago (eight years to be precise), the Sembera family took a stand against the long, hot summers of Louisiana by having Cornerstone Pools Inc. install the oasis of their dreams: an elegant escape featuring a 15-by-41-foot lap pool, as well as a 16-by-27-foot recreational pool –– a combined total of more than 1,000 square feet!
Friendship by Design
With some help from their good friend and designer, Cheryl and Michael Dendy skillfully combine classic and modern elements in their Uptown home.
This has been a friendship forged over coffee tables and antique chairs. It began with a pair of vintage-modern barstools. Lawyers Cheryl and Michael Dendy first spied them through the window of Mary Satterlee’s Magazine Street store, U Dwell. The couple thought they’d be perfect for the kitchen in their newly renovated Calhoun Street home. The only problem: The store was so new that it hadn’t yet opened for business.
